Euston advertising with Titan

Titan have given me advertising on one of these poster spaces. It will cost £200 however I think it will be worth it as so many people will see it on their way to and from the underground. Just have to get my poster sorted asap advertising me and my website.

Chelle's Billboard

This is the billboard I will be appearing on, it is seen very clearly from the traintrack. Knebworth is a straight route to Kings Cross, so hopefully lots of people who work in London will be travelling via Knebworth. I am a bit worried as I am no Kate Moss and the billboard seems to be getting larger!

Charity Event now advertised

My Charity Event is now out and about being advertised in local shops.

Billboard in Knebworth

Trevor Shaw at DisctoPrint said he can do my print for a billboard for me at £75, this is down from £200. Absolutely fantastic news!!!
So, a billboard in Knebworth is on the way...just need to get into London. Can't believe I am going to be on a billboard. Scary but brilliant!

Billboards...

Today I stepped off the train and there it was; a giant empty billboard crying out for a picture of Chelle. As luck would have it, there was even a phone number above it. This led me to Colinsad which is a company that own billboards. They said that if I can get a poster printed they will let me have it up for nothing having explained my project. Knebworth is a start but what I really want is advertising in London. Colinsad put me in touch with Titan when they realised I meant business. James Thornton picked up the phone and this is the start of a whole new friendship. He said he will try and help me and phone me tomorrow with possible advertising space in London! This would just be fantastic! I really hope he can help. He then put me in touch with a printing company DisctoPrint and said to speak to Trevor Shaw. Hopefully he will be able to help with me printing work for a small budget as I am a student with not much money!! Fingers crossed.

First PR company response-Ketchum

Such a shame they can't help, however this email has really motivated me to get my project out there.

3 weeks down, 9 to go!

Here is an easier picture to see how much I have done so far, where it has got me and how long I have left! This diagram will keep me on track and show me how hard I need to work each week. I feel like it is quite a long way to go, but I am sure the weeks will go faster than expected, so I must not start slacking. I keep thinking what it would be like to be famous- is it a good thing? I mean, it doesn't necessarily mean fortune, it might just be hassle to some celebs. I was looking at pictures of Victoria Beckham in the celebrity magazines and she doesn't smile a lot. I bet she can't go anywhere without getting hassled.
But then, she wouldn't be where she is without the public.

Brainstorming again

Thinking back to the questions 'what is fame?' within our modern society and 'how easy is it to become famous?'
Each area of focus in this diagram is a route to fame. This is a short brainstorm to keep me on track, have a look at what I have doneso far into the project and the reason I have done it. Also scribbled ideas down of what I could do to fulill these areas of focus. To become famous through a talent seems the most challenging of the three whereas years ago, this was the easiest-you HAD to have a talent. Interesting how it has altered. This project is definately beginning to show how the meaning of fame has changed.

5 seconds of fame in week 3!

These are images from Transmission recording on channel 4 where I was in the audience. There is also pictures of Fergie, just because I think she is great! Five minutes into the show there was a short clip of a close up of me as you can see. The thought of the editor choosing to put me there is very exciting as a lot of the filming has been edited and taken out from the actual night. He must have seen my potential in film work...
There is also a picture of my arm that was in shot for the final credits. Somehow I don't think people will recognise it is Chelle's.
Is that my 5 seconds of fame done? We shall see.

Things to do this week:

Need a plan and a notepad and a diary on me at all times to keep up with all the paths I am now going down-as missing one phonecall could be 'curtains'. So
- get all postcards and posters printed and around London
- design and set up home web page for my website address
- research into more national coverage i.e not just local newspaper and radio
-Think of something extravagant to do when last few weeks start appearing!

I am beginning to feel addicted to this project, I now want to achieve a high status for no particular reason. I am now liking the idea of fame and starting tp get a buzz. What seemed to start out as a joke is becoming more serious and I am having mixed emotions about it. I think after the 12 weeks I might have to carry on experimenting with the media. Graphic design is being overshadowed by my challenge and I am rather enjoying it! Everyone keeps telling me to apply Big Brother!

Film Crew Bastards!

So I travelled all the way to Maidstone to get the back of my head on tele.

Time is ticking

Yes, time is ticking and I am still not famous, I have a few things going on where a few people will see my name and face but what next? Today I have emailed 18 PR companies based in London to see if one of these companies will take it upon themselves to promote me and in doing so, proving to the public that this company can make anyone famous!

First mock up of design for House of Fraser wall

Radio and print advertising

I have been informed today that my charity event will be in the local newspaper and on the local radio station next week. How exciting!!!

Charity Event leaflet and poster

This is the leaflet, designed by myself, that will be put up in shop windows, and handed out in newsagents around Hertfordshire. It will also be in the local newspaper. So 'Chelle' will be put into other people's minds! I have so much now to organise my head is spinning. So many emails to reply to, so many phonecalls to make, so many prizes to sort out for the charity event. I am constantly ringing Harrods and House of Fraser to check we are still on and trying to sort out dates, and I am also trying to hold down a part time job. My family haven't seen much of me as the evenings are taken up by me organising what I need to do the next day. This famous thing is more work than I thought- however I am doing all this without an agent. So I think I am doing quite well. Now and again though I am getting a bit stressed!

Chelle meets Fergie from Black Eyed Peas!

Last night I went to a recording of Transmission on channel 4 with T-Mobile hosted by Steve Jones and Lauren Laverne. Guests consisted of Peaches Geldof (who was a right stuck up little...) Bez, who won celebrity Big Brother (he was hilarious!) someone off Shameless (I don't watch it), Mark Ronson (who DJ'd at Tom Cruise's wedding), Bright Eyes, The Twang, another band I can't remember and O MY GOD FERGIE from Black Eyed Peas, who sang her new song GLAMOROUS!!!!!!!!!
And I managed to speak to her when she came off from her performance (only small talk)- she is stunning but tiny in real life! Smaller than me! Anyway, the reason I am posting this is because I should be on tele either this Friday night, or next. I think it is on at 10.30pm. I pushed my way to the front of everything so I should be on there, and on the interviews on the couch I was bang in the middle so look out for me. Also I am going to the Eurovision show on Saturday so look out for me then too.
Hope all well x

More pics...

Lots of people are telling me I look like Ruby from Eastenders- No offence to her but I am not liking this as I don't want to look like another celebrity! I might have to consider a makeover, mind you I wouldn't have liked to be told I look like Pat Butcher!

The photo shoot pictures have started to make me feel as if my fame project is about to actually kick off. Having your photo airbrushed is what celebs do all the time.

More pictures arrived today to use for posters/postcards etc

How about I sign up to celebrity lookalikes. Eastenders Louisa Lytton (Ruby)
is trying to look like me!

'Chelle' is in the audience

I have just recieved a phone call from the BBC in reply to my email request to tell me they can put me in the audience this Saturday for the Eurovision-Making Your Mind Up Show and they said I might appear on tele/might not. Worth a try. I am so excited though, might have to give Brian Harvey a few winks! Look out for me x

'Chelle' hosts charity event back in her local home town

If I am going to be famous I must do my bit for charity.
Running alongside my FMP is a 'James Bond' charity event I am organising for my local pub and what's more, the comedian Jimmy Jones has agreed to help host. An idea of mine is to use this as one of my methods of getting my name noticed. This will be done through all advertising by announcing the event is 'hosted by Chelle'. This will be seen on all posters, leaflets, newspapers, radio. People will think- Chelle? Who is that... Then they will see my website address and hopefully log on hence more publicity for me. For this event I worked with the manager to organise:
- an Aston Martin, a Rolls Royce and a Z4 to be outside the front
- celebrity guests, 'Jaws' from the actual film James Bond will be there along with 'Odd-Job' who stars in it too.
- photographers
- radio advertising
- local newspaper advertising

We have also organised a Charity Auction, prizes consist of
- P&O Cruise
- dinner for 2 at The Langham, London
- Adnams brewery tour and dinner
- golfing for 18 people
- beauty treatments
- a Z4 for the weekend test drive
- signed football shirts
- signed James Bond posters

Lots more to come!

Hopefully this will also demonstrate in my portfolio my skill for PR work which I am hoping to move into in the future. I have already designed all the graphics for this event and so the pub are willing to help my name become known by radio / media work that will be involved.
I will have photographs from the event to record the outcome. So you just walk into a garage and ask for a BMW for a weekend prize and they say yes! O.K so he knew my boss.

Example of one set from photo shoot

I realised I needed some pictures for promotion to prove I am not a student geek. Another contact from previous work experience was Mark Nunn who does photography as a sideline. As his portfolio to date had just been children and weddings we were able to help each other. He got some fashion shoot experience and I got my pictures. Trouble was I felt very uncomfortable trying to be a model but the results were much better than I expected. Several hundred photos later I managed to find some I was happy to use.-well sort of happy to use.
